Today we sent our darling to the printer! The test print is already on its way back, we are so excited to see how it turns out, but for the final result we have to wait until September 24th. And the 25th we are going to Copenhagen to celebrate the release at hansenogjensen, Tullinsgade 24 (Jun 24 in urbnCal 2011). If you are in Copenhagen on saturday, September 25th, 11-2 pm please come and celebrate the release with us and you can be the first one to buy next years calendar!
PS. Can you guess which of the numbers in this view belong to Dansk Arkitektur Center?
Sisaret!

Sisaret is the Finnish word for sisters. This print is dedicated to Esa’s late mother and all other sisters. In the 60’s and 70’s there was an unwritten rule in some churches that women shouldn’t cut their hair but wear it in a topknot (pingstknut in swedish), the tighter the better. To get the right feel for this print we took pictures of timber in the Finnish countryside. These are the first prints of Sisaret and there is more to come! If you would like to carry one of these rare beauties, you find them at Supermarket or Signerat.
Camp meeting in the late 60’s, Finland.
Monarchy in the USA
When Etsy was celebrating “Euro week” we thought it was time these t-shirts (printed just for fun some years ago) were made available. It’s more a play with words than a political statement (even though it was made when Bush was president). You might recognize the source of inspiration. We like the D.I.Y. attitude in punk. This creative explosion is celebrated during the weekend in Stockholm. In June there is another (royal) celebration. This is a t-shirt you could wear at both occasions.

Do you need some inspiration for a new training season? These totes are the result from our experimentation at the print workshop in Simrishamn some years ago. The overall was bought at the nearby fleamarket “Suckarnas gång”. Now you can find them at Supermarket.

sick fashion
Yesterday we watched, a program about the textile industry, they gave us both personal portraits and facts that were difficult to hide from. For example:
To get 1 kg cotton by conventional growing you need to use 1 kg poison!
With this in mind it feels like an obvious choice to print on organic cotton. We also follow with great interest the development of alternatives like bamboo and hemp.
bag tags

Our tote bags come from Ecolotion, a european company that works with hemp fiber in the most environmentally-sound way possible, which feels great. The tags that is on the bags when we get them compete a little too much with our prints, we have removed them and they have been lying in a stack. We tried to make Christmas tree decorations of them but that wasn’t very successful. Now they have been customized – trimmed and less colourful – and become jollygoodfellow tags!
juicy, Jussi!

Our print Kotten2 has finally received a bit more dignified name: Jussi!
and now you can find it at supermarket on T-shirts and tote bags.
