The sea has always had a special place in our hearts.
This print is a kind of statement but it also open up to various reflections. Hopefully it will remind us about the environmental situation in our seas and open up for interesting conversations.
We use a lot of plastic in the world, it’s very useful, but unfortunately much of it ends up in the wrong place. On the other hand there is a lot of power in nature. For example the mussels help us to take care of the overfertilization of the seas. Maybe it’s still not too late!
25% of the profit from every sold print will go to a project by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (Naturskyddsföreningen) for healthier seas.
The screen print is based on a photograph. The mussel is found on the beach at Mellbystrand, Sweden. We put some clay inside to imitate the muscle and to be able to place the plastic pearl.
Technique: Photo based screen print
Paper: Munken Pure 240 g (Swedish High Quality paper)

In May we took part in a local group exhibition at the old wind mill just outside Arlöv. What an honor to be a part of this, to exhibit in a room that is like a piece of art in itself and to do it together with these good people/artists. Hope that this will be a new tradition!
Here is a preliminary list of events that we take part in this year, we will update it further on.
And if you want to visit us is in the studio and print shop in Arlöv when it’s not jollygoodlördag, just send an email or call so you know for sure that we are here.

“Bird” is a print based on a shadow figure on the wall. For us it’s a good reminder about that simple play can bring happiness. Actually the photo that we have processed and then used in the screen printing preparation, was taken a very long time ago. And now it have found the right form!
It is available in two sizes, the print is the same but there are more or less paper on the left and top. More info in the jollygoodshop!
During the Stockholm Design Week 2019 we had an exhibition with hand-dyed fabrics/sound absorbers and paper craft at manos, our absolute favorit store/workshop in Stockholm run by ceramic designer, Karin Eriksson.
We have long thought about textiles in interior design, they have a great ability to soften and to dampen sound. In our home we like to have as much light as possible, so we skip curtains, instead we choose to hang the fabric on the wall. Some years ago we started to experiment with natural dyeing, now we have combined it with screen printing. The theme for the first collection of textile prints is birds. The motif is based on our print “Flying V” but this time the flock is printed spontaneously over the textile, as the title of the exhibition hints. This makes all the prints unique.
The fabrics are dyed with: wine, acorn, black bean and hollyhock.
All the ceramics are made by Karin Eriksson, the potter with green fingers ; )
